Introduction:
This book is full of many different short stories about children and their everyday life, and what they have to do to survive the most treacherous times of their lives.

Setting:
This story takes place in Urban Kenya, where life seems to be impossible most days, but the holidays mean more than anything.

Main Characters:
Miasha; a Rwandan girl striving to keep a fight up with her family about money and riches.

Miasha:
A family living in Kenya scurries to find gifts of any kind of gifts for the impending Christmas holiday. A Rwandan girl relates her families struggles to maintain a facade of unspeakable acts. This girl is named Miasha, she chooses to live on the streets and sell herself for anything anyone has to offer. She knows her family is struggling very much, and she refuses to share what she "earns."

Main Plot Events:

In the beginning of the story, Miasha leaves home to live the street life. Her mother is furious at her for choosing to do so, all of the money and goods Miasha gets she refuses to share with her family, she shores it away in a safe where her mother tries to open. MIasha's mother calls her a "whore" and other vulgar names because of the actions her daughter is choosing to make. This is what keeps Miasha to continue doing the things shes doing.

As the story goes on, Miasha is still not home but however her little brother goes out to her "spot" and visits her, and tells her how things are going at home with the family and how their mother is taking Miasha's absence out on everyone. He even tells her about the family striving to gain enough money for the upcoming Christmas Holiday, and they aren't every successful. He tries to get Miasha to open the safe but she refuses...

Conflict:

Internal:
Miasha knows she should help her family and come home but the street life is addicting.

External:
Miasha and her mother dont have a good relationship because she wont share the money with her.

Recommendation:
I would recommend this book for people who have interests in life struggle and cause and effect books. This book is a little twisted and very odd but it is worth the reading.
