This Summer

This summer was amazing. I went to many places such as the beach, up in the hills, North Carolina and Montana. At least every weekend I went up in the hills and had big bon fires with tons of people. Also, I went to the beach a couple of times with all my friends and played volleyball and went swimming in the ocean. It was a blast. I also went to North Carolina with my mom and two little brothers and I was so relaxing. The first two days we hung out with people that we met down there but the rest of the week we were down at the beach and laid in the sand. The ocean there is amazing! Its clear blue water that is warm and the sand was white. After North Carolina I went to Kalispell, Montana with three of my friends. We drove down there and there was many many people there that we met. People had get to's where everyone went and socialized. It was so fun because I have never met so many people in my life. Last but not least my boyfriend came here from Duluth after 4 years of not seeing each other. We have only been dating for 5 months though, We just haven't seen each other since then.

So far in The Book Thief, Liesel warms up to her new foster parents Hans and Rosa, after all, they are really all she has due to her mom having to leave and the recent death of her younger brother. Liesel started school in Germany but is made fun of because she does not know how to read like the other kids in school. Liesel goes home sad and Hans her step dad notices Liesel's upset so he decides to teach her how to read they have midnight lessons in the basement each night, he's been teaching her to read with what once was her brother's book. I think Liesel and Hans have really started to bond and grow close together which is important for Liesel because she is only 9 years old and has already been through so much. Liesles new fascination with reading leads her and her best friend Hugo to start stealing books, "They had no qualms about stealing, but they needed to be told. They liked to be told, and Viktor Chemmel liked to be the teller."
